Book 3 - The Hearts of Ellan Vannin Trilogy - Noble Hearts of Ellan Vannin

Coming January 1, 2008!

Behind The Scenes:

* Alban makes a total of three sacrifices in the name of love for Estelle's sake.

1. He arranges her marriage to Lord William Percy

2. He charges Roan to accompany her to Ireland , knowing what the consequences would be.

3. He surrenders the throne of Ellan Vannin so Roan and Estelle can rule as King and Queen of Vannin.

The Manx arms consist of shield bearing the Triskelion consisting of three bent human legs, on a red field. The Triskelion is an ancient symbol used in the Isle of Man. The supporters are a falcon and raven.

With one leg I spurn Ireland ,
With the second I kick Scotland ,
And with the third I kneel to England

The Falcon is depicted due to the historical importance of the bird in the Island's history in that when Henry IV, King of England, gifted the Isle of Man with all its rights to Sir John Stanley on the condition that he paid homage and gave two Peregrine falcons to him and every future king of England on his Coronation Day.

The Raven is symbolic of its Viking heritage, this bird being the mascot of Odin the Great.
